Church History

Agape Baptist Church was founded in 1993 by believers committed to following God’s will. The name “Agape” reflects the highest form of love—God’s unconditional love for humanity, as shown through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ (John 3:16-17, 1 John 4:8). This divine love, not the nails, kept Jesus on the cross. The Apostle Paul emphasized its importance, stating that “the greatest of these is love” (1 Cor. 13:13).

In the New Testament, Agape describes God’s love for His Son, humanity, and believers, as well as the love Christians are called to show each other and the world. Jesus’ conversation with Peter (John 21:15-18) illustrates this selfless, unconditional love.

Inspired by this message, we named ourselves Agape Baptist Church, striving to be “a church where our Lord Jesus Christ is magnified and the love He exhibited is exemplified through worshiping, studying, caring, sharing, and serving.”

Using this passage of scripture as our perpetual reminder of the type of love that we, individually as believers in Christ Jesus as our personal savior, and collectively, as a body of believers joining to form a visible church, we have chosen to call ourselves -

AGAPE BAPTIST CHURCH

“A Church where our Lord Jesus Christ is magnified and the love He exhibited is exemplified through Worshiping, Studying, Caring, Sharing and Serving.”

"Exemplifying God's Love by Serving Others"
